Sharing stories of customers, merchants, suppliers, and growers. In other words, our Market family...
On October 17, 2018, a group of women from the French Association, Philadelphie Accueil, descended on the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market. Their mission: to see if they could buy quality produce at better prices than they were currently paying without sacrificing quality.
This group belongs to a branch of Philadelphie Accueil called Le Marché Français. They meet a few times a year and cook French specialties – mostly jams and sauces – which they sell to raise money for the charity, Cradles to Crayons, whose mission is to fight childhood poverty.
They ended up buying several boxes of produce and staying for nearly three hours! According to Olga, a member of Le Marché Français, “We had a wonderful time. I am pretty sure that we will organize small groups to buy produce. Also, the fruits and veggies were very tasty!”
Merci, Philadelphie Accueil!
